Lux Helsinki is an annual event that invites residents and visitors to enjoy brilliant light installations during the darkest time of the year. Thirteen impressive and surprising light installations will light up a route stretching from the Olympic Stadium around Töölönlahti Bay to the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma and Senate Square. Most of the installations can be viewed from 4pm to 10pm, while some of the installations will be displayed from sunset to sunrise.
Also this year the artistic director of the event is Professor Markku Uimonen and the technical director Ilkka Paloniemi. The light installations in 2013 are being designed by Finnish and international artists, including artists and artist groups from France, England, Germany and Hong Kong.
